OUR MISSION

The CLEANPB campaign is built around the idea of CLEAN; which stands for Community Litter Education and Awareness Network. The emphasis here is on community and network. Raising awareness and educating people. Simply telling people that "littering is bad" isn't enough. We need to show people that if we work together, we can all make a difference. For this campaign to have the grassroots impact we believe it can have, the community has to embrace CLEAN PB as their own. We have to do everything we can to make people feel included and that CLEAN PB is made up of their friends and neighbors – that we're a part of this community, not just some group trying to tell them what to do. It is crucial that we get people to actively participate in any way they can, and bring whatever skills they have to the cause. Whether it is marketing, professional or organizational skills, or just showing up for a cleanup day, we need the communities help. Schools, churches, clubs, businesses, individuals, we need help from as many as many people as we can. The strategy behind Let's Talk Trash is to focus on getting as many people in the community as possible talking about the litter problem. Research shows that a sustained discourse often leads to effective action. In other words when people start talking about something, that thing tends to happen.
